hi,

i would like to donate blood ~60 hours after taking phenobarbital to stave off benzo withdrawals as i will not take any for more than 2 days before blood donation. However i'm not sure how exactly does its long half-life relate to donating blood (plasma?), because i don't want to accidentally roofie someone.

Blood or plasma? With plasma active heroin users can donate as well as meth users and pill poppers. Our plasma is " rinsed" and is still okay to use. With blood, I believe that is also the case but check your local donation center to be sure. Donation centers don't care about our use anymore....it can be eliminated with machines. They only care if you have an active infection.

"Phenobarbital has a plasma half-life of 53 to 118 hours (mean: 79 hours). For children and newborns the plasma half-life is 60 to 180 hours (mean: 110 hours).":
