Other Drugs... too much diversity?

I'm curious as to why the Other Drugs forum doesn't have subfora for specifics like opiates/oids, stims, RCs, and the like.

This site runs on vBulletin by its looks and general functionality... I think. If So, creating child forums using the admin CP is really easy.

The reasons why I believe that splitting discussions would be beneficial are thus:

1. Harm reduction, targeted to user population. I see the stickies, but those don't give all the info a user may want. I know there's a search feature, but realistically, someone who's about to inject their Opana is more likely to click on an Opiates forum than to UTFSE (I love that...). I'm a dedicated subforum, stickies directed at user population will be extremely accessible, providing near-instant access to safer injection practices, instructions on proper CWE technique, ROA comparison, and anything else at the click of a mouse. Addicts are more likely to take the path of least resistance and do things the easy way (except when it comes to obtaining their substance of choice).

2. Forum clutter. Right now, in my opinion, OD looks excessively messy. It makes Bluelight look disorganized, and some might infer that this disorganization means that site information quality is poor. When things are clearly delineated, It increases user and guest opinions of everything site related, be it content, staff credibility, or anything else. Source: I was a lead admin for a VERY busy trading card game website for several years. I implemented many of the things I am bringing to your attention now in a particular subforum and as a result, positive changes came.

3. Ease of moderation. I'm pretty sure that when posts are reported, the moderator in question receives a direct link to the offending post. If some jackass decides that spamming 900 Viagra threads is the thing to do, it's much easier to mass-cull threads in a single small area as opposed to trawling through legit threads to find offending content. The moderation staff may not even need expansion; just set permissions to the original OD mods and everything is cool. Of course, with separate substance class subfora you have the option to hire mods with experience regarding site rules and the substances in question.

In conclusion, it's my belief that splitting up OD would only bring good things to Bluelight. I don't know if I'm alone in this, and I know That that I'm just a greenlighter, but I figured I'd make my case. Thanks for reading
