i crossed deserts,
seas
walked,
had:
no luggage
no name
empty hands,
bare feet
bare heart,
bare heart.
turned left
at oasis,
another
on my right,
how much to go
in this
no new
under the sun,
this no new?
my reflection
in the water
by the reeds,
the desert
an hourglass
in itself,
grain by grain
emphasising
external change
and internal
disquiet.
mirage upon
mirage upon
mirage.
too much searching
externally
for what's
already inside
of me.
at nightfall,
under the moon
i finally gave up
everything
and coloured the
nothing inside
of me
with love.

I like this. The structure helps to assist the intensity.

thanks for reading

unfortunately the realisation I came to isn't permanent

It rarely is. It's important to remember it, though, because you'll probably have it a few more times before it sticks.

pk, that was beautiful. I have been thinking a lot about just walking lately. And leaving things behind, including identity. I could feel the air in what you wrote.<3
