I was given at a needle exchange point natriumchloride or injection fluid but a friend said that it probably should not be used when one needs to cook up the stuff. Could he be right? Why? I've always just used clean water.

It's just sterile water with a bit of salt in it, no different from normal water really.

That much I know and I have experience of it from other things. It was just a surprise to get it from the needle exchange point cause they don't even give filters. My friend's argument sounded silly but I just want to make sure. So no point in not using it?

"Natriumchlorid" (NaCl) = "sodium chloride" = salt
A solution of salt in water is referred to as "saline" in English - a word you've probably read a few times whenever someone writes about injecting things into your body.

It seems that the salt creates some kind of blobs (not sure if this is the right word) in the water.

I am not from an English-speaking country.
