Microdosing sensitization?

Hi all,

I recently discovered mentions of sensitization to amphetamines occuring when microdosing. The mechanism is not entirely clear to me. It is mentioned that this cases reverse tolerance and significantly increases the effect of amphetamines and even has long lasting side effects outside of drug use.

Could a similar thing happen to gaba agonists? If one was to take a micro dose of benzo for a few weeks, could this cause the brain to become more sensitive to benzos, or even to endogenous benzodiazepines?

At least in mice with lorazepam, it seems there is a similar effect.

There also is the "kindling" effect with benzos which may be related - every time you undergo withdrawal from benzodiazepines the withdrawal symptoms get more intense.

^Yeah that's why addicts can't go back to just recreational use. They have to stop, blatantly.
