Hey guys,

I have a question.

I take Methylphenidat (ADD). That is through metabolised by CYP2D6.

Second thing is that I take Tramadol sometimes, not every day. Max. 1 week every day and then a pause of min. 6-8 weeks.

Now to my question. Is it possible that the Methylphenidat decrease the Tramadol effects. For example euphoria because the CYP2D6 level in the liver is to low to metabolize enough Tramadol into O-Desmethyltramadol?

Thanks

Methylphenidate seems to be a weak inhibitor of CYP2D6, so there might not be an interaction.

Thanks :) I was surprised when I noticed that the tramadol had equally strong effects even though I had taken methylphenidate.
