Mephedrone -- do you think it causes permanent memory loss?

Reading some stuff about it online but cant make sense of it. Is this something people think ? Or is it too early to tell!

Going from observation on a friend of mine, yes. He's fried.
But it will vary from person to person.
 
I can find some studies done in 2012 but nothing much since then. Anecdotally I've known people to seem to lose grip on their memory from years of speed , but hadn't considered it with mephedrone before , but starting worrying about it recently. Think maybe am just having a mini meltdown and looking for something to explain / blame it on / self-flagelate about
 
Cortisol is a true danger for the memory, high levels hit hard on the Hippocampus. And can eventually damage it.

Wild guess but high dosages of stimulants probably raise cortisol levels.
