LSD & Posture

Has anyone else noticed improved posture with LSD usage?

I'm over 6 foot tall and been slouching since i was a kid but after taking LSD farily regularly it's like i'm forced to sit and stand upright, it's most pronounced in the latter stages of a trip but definitely carries through into the days/weeks following

It's going to be a lot of work to undo decades of slouching but i really see it as being possible and it's at least partly thanks to LSD

I find that LSD can make you more aware of anything in your life that needs improvement, whether it be emotionally or physically. For example, LSD always increases my desire to eat healthy.

That's awesome, man. :) I am also slightly over 6 feet tall and slouched my whole life... I became aware I needed to fix it in my twenties and I worked at it sometimes but still slouched. Then when I took my ibogaine flood dose to get past opiates, it also showed me that I needed to work out and get in shape and get a strong core, and it would fix my problem. So I did that, and I don't slouch anymore. I am still working through some kinks in my back as things readjust, but it's getting better all the time. It's definitely possible to fix your posture but the earlier you do it the easier it will be I imagine. I'm 31 now and it was this year I fixed it.

Same for me. I'm 1.90 m and usually make quite a bent appearance. However in my case I wouldn't say my better posture after a trip comes from realizing that something about it needs to be done, but from loosing my shyness. In the week or two after the trip I am a person who expresses good energy and likes to look straight into people's faces which I normally avoid.

My posture came from shyness as well, I was tall and awkward before most people and I slouched I guess subconsciously to make myself less noticeable or something. Fortunately I've managed to pretty much get over that but it took quite a while.

I too notice this. However, for me it's the most noticable when doing 4HO-tryptamines.

Also, doing yoga on these compounds is wonderful. After a session I literally feel taller, and it feels like my organs have more space.

No way dude, that shit drains your spinal fluid!!! Haven't you heard?

In all seriousness LSD (and all psychedelics) do tend to make people more health-conscious.

Posture problems are often caused by muscular imbalances so one thing I would STRONGLY recommend is powerlifting. One thing you never see is a deadlift specialist with a kyphotic posture.

I did notice improved posture with 4-ho-met. With associated increased confidence.

funny you mention this because only since I started tripping I noticed an overall increase in trying to live healthy. I used to always slouch and I don't really anymore..

Ibogaine gave me a strong drive to work out and get in shape... I've been doing deadlifts, squats, rows, bench presses and farmer's walks. Plus situps with a weight on me on an inclined bench. Abs are important too. Never felt better. :)

It also gave me a drive to eat healthy and I cook all my meals now with good ingredients. When I was on opiates I ate so crappily, and not enough either (I was always broke and also always trying to avoid having food in my stomach so the opiates would work better). After ibogaine I put on 15 pounds in 2 weeks just from eating enough food and then 15 more pounds of muscle over a month or so... I've been very slowly gaining weight since but I'm pretty happy with where I'm at, I don't need to be huge, just strong and in shape.

I find this to be true, currently i feel like i need to exercise, particularly lots of hatha yoga, everytime i take LSD it seems to show me how related to yoga it is

I never thought of it in that way, a lot of the time i think its lazyness but you could be onto something there, i don't necessarily feel shy anymore compared to when i was younger but i do becomea bit more outgoing when i stand up straighter

Thanks, i do find squats, dead lifts, loads of stretching and really engaging my abs seems to line things up best

I find in the latter parts of an LSD trip it can help me really get into all the little knots as i'm reintegrating into my body with yoga

Also, one of the best things i've experienced is stargazing, standing up straight, tilting my head back and locking into position

I'm slouched as well and I have to remind myself always to stand straighter.

Also reading this thread made me stand straighter. ;)

I definitely become more aware of posture on psychedelics. Maybe particularly with LSD? Noticed this effect with DPT, 2C-E, 4-AcO-DMT as well, so it could really be a characteristic of psychedelics in general.

I know of at least one person who's entire path down the road of yoga training and becoming a teacher was catalyzed by an acid trip where she became very aware of alignment etc. (For better or worse - how many yoga teachers does this world really need? lol)

A couple of acid trips compelled me to self-correct a pronating ankle by making a habit of standing and walking more properly on that foot. The acid made me aware of the possibilty to fix it. Acid makes me stand up straight, hold myself better, more honest, less shy body language if that makes sense.

I also noticed that myself and others sometimes speak out of the side of their mouth instead of facing the intended audience and speaking to them directly. It's a kind of crooked habit that I think muddies communication. Acid has helped my try to fix this.

Lately I've noticed how I tend to look more out of one eye and turn one side of my face to favour that eye. It kind of bugs me and I'm trying to fix it.

I think it can be a bit toxic to be perfectionistic about this stuff though, we are beautiful humans full of all our beautiful crooked imperfections.

I have scoliosis, a small hunch and a slightly more pronounced twist. I enjoy the stretching aspect that tripping brings about, mainly because it leads to cracking and that in turn activates those muscles and helps me stand straighter, which is comfortable. Not sure how this helps or adds to the discussion; guess I needed to write it...

Seconded. What a compound. For me, it's not the superficial visual compound some people describe it to be. It's so much deeper than that, I call it "getting in touch with the best version of yourself".

Have you ever noticed that, when coming out of this position, your visual field takes a few seconds to go back to normal ?
I would almost describe the feeling I get with something similar to fainting. I have to add, I've never fainted in my life, so I don't know how it feels, but that's my impression of how it could feel.
I suppose this has to do with blood flow, but I'm not sure.

Makes sense ?
