Boulder County Coroner rules Carlos Bustillos' death an accident
By Pierrette J. Shields
03/26/2014

The Boulder County Coroner has ruled that a man who died after he crashed his truck into a warehouse and sparked a fire on Feb. 26 died of smoke inhalation and had "significant conditions of cocaine and Tramadol induced seizure."

Carlos Bustillos' death was ruled an accident.

Bustillos was driving his black 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck south on Bowen Street about 4 p.m. Feb. 26 and stopped at Boston Avenue when he apparently had a seizure, witnesses reported. The truck accelerated across Boston and crashed into the steel warehouse, which caught fire.

Bustillos' teenage children escaped the wreckage after trying to pull him from the pickup. The body of his pit bull, Sugar, was found at his feet in the cab of the truck. She apparently stubbornly stayed by his side.

Tramadol is a drug used to treat moderate or severe pain. Boulder County Coroner Emma Hall said the cocaine and Tramadol levels in his body were high enough to have triggered a seizure, so the drugs are listed as "significant conditions" on his death certificate.

Firefighters spent more than two hours fighting the blaze following the crash.

My heart goes out out his family<3

I also thought this should be posted for harm reduction as far as stims and Tram.. just so maybe the clueless who prescribe tramadol under the nonsense that it harmless might wisen up and stick with reg opiates if they work as well for the pain as tram has big problems and is addictive as every other opiate if not more so. Also got to throw a shout out to pitts.. some of the best dogs on the planet, so sorry this one went this way.
