I am in Victoria, Aus. I have had a number of serious injuries over the years, mainly car related that has caused pretty decent damage to my spine and nerves. As and as I am getting into my late 30s and degenerative spinal diseases are becoming more annoying, I had previously been able to see a Doctor where we had an understanding and after trying all other options I opioids seemed to work to an extent that I could function in society and also, just take tablets when necessary. So, no (take x per day but take x as necessary). Also, Dexamfetamine Sulfate (renamed here in Aus) as used to take Adderall when I lived in Canada, and TBH I had no side effects of either but have been quite fine. This worked fine for years, didn't feel like an infant but after completely rupturing my Achilles tendon playing basketball about 1.5 years ago, the Austin hospital saw the medications I have had. Their immediate decision was to stop all and give my old GP issues. Once operation was completed, had to go to another pain clinic, see another pain Doctor, they put you on anti-depressants (tried but didn't deal with the spouts of crazy pain that then escalates) but now it is all pre-decided to use lyrica, gabapentin, paracetamol, baclofen and NSAIDs.

Yet, since modifying the meds, apart from having minimal ways to counter breakthrough pain I have antral gastritis, Hiatal hernia, sever liver issues and have intestinal problems and while trying all these other anti-seizure & anti-epileptic meds, you need to take them daily but when significant pain occurs there is nothing. All this stuff had done for me has created brain fog, lack of faith in the system and actually feel like a cripple. Furthermore, now the trust has gone, they put you in a drug seeker class and assumptions are made.

After trying Gabapentin and both Lyrica & Baclofen I found it effected me mentally and made my lower back problems worse. Google Gabapentin and lower back pain.. I was then sent to a private pain specialist in which afterwards found after reading about them they do not under any circumstance recommend opioids. Just recommended more Gabapentin and thinking that when the pain is insane to meditate or some crap. Safescript has turned GP's to require more specialists and specialists that are related to pain clearly have not had the sort of injuries and long-term crap some people will have to deal with. No matter the exercises blah blah.

Now, from once being treated like an adult and provided the odd mix of Opioids in order to not get used to one and take as required. I have gone down a mental path where I am considering the non-legal route for pain relief. As I have a high pain (physical & medical) threshold but not wanting to take random pills each day that clearly don't do the trick. Where the previous arrangement worked I have stopped all medication. Apart from my GP has a permit for up to 20mg IR Oxynorm per day. As they can last 3-4 hours, and being a 6'2 95kg guy, it just takes the edge off. However, while that would be fine for most my L5-S1 was so bad, I had to take them as you should every few hours (so, I get a few days), then have to wait 10 days to pick up next lot of 10 tablets.

So, I ended up going into the hospital as couldn't sleep for 5 days apart from micro-naps they ended up putting me on an IV to make me sleep for some hours. They did a blood test and found I now have sever fatty liver where a year prior to these changes had no problem, likely due to taking too many tablets including Panadol. Also, as Gastritis and so forth they told me not to take NSAIDs as they shouldn't be taken for long anyway, and due to my liver to not use paracetamol. . That said, I am actually quite healthy considering, but the problem is, if I tweak my neck, back etc it can quickly turn horrid and what the heck do I do?? Working as a Civil Engineer I need my brain and from being quite productive, I am now looking up ways to make my own gear. lol

Anyway, if anyone knows of any trials to try to knock out pain for good, alternative meds, or anything? Either way, just needed to write as its late and I am in pain and feeling defeated!

I don’t know if you have had private message responses but my heart goes out to you, in particulr as there are no replies here yet and this is not an uncommon situation. We don’t understand pain and it’s variations at all properly yet.

I truly understand the urge to violently punch in the face anyone who says meditate. But stuff like that can help some people - not so much as to stop the pain, but to ride the effects of the pain and live with it. Forcing your body to relax and not fight the agony, to breathe slow and deep, it won’t stop it, but doing the opposite in rage and frustration does make it worse.

( …pause for you to scream that I am a fucking patronising cunt who doesn’t understand what you are going through… :) absolutely true)

Opiates don’t stop the pain, they make you not care. And you have to take greater and higher doses to get to the same place. For me, it was a mistake born of desperation, and you already know that place well. I had a year on morphine for a back injury. Was physically dependent but not psychologically addicted. I only got out of it by personal research and developing a physiotherapy routine of my own. This was based on finding the edge of the pain and going up to it, then pushing that edge further.

I got priceless information from a book that described different current pain theories - which vary in accuracy according to the cause - but for me it seemed that the ’emergency bell alarm’ of damage continued to ring after the injury was healed and was set too high and sensitive. Not very scientific language I know, and absolutely is not the end result for everyone, s this was pain after injury not illness, but maybe might help some of yours. I can’t find the goddamn book or remember the title, but this one might help regarding identifying and communication, which is vital for problem solving: The Challenge of Pain by Ronald Melzack and Patrick Wall.

It took me a whole year before I saw a change. I took everyday and minute at a time. Inched my way into mobility and banked off despair and mental hell by not looking forward too far. I got inspiration from people who survived torture, from Pappilon in solitary confinement, Mandela in prison, and Hellen Keller locked in herself. Whatever fuel you can get from anywhere. And grab every tiny moment of pleasure or achievement and wring it dry.

Please, anyone else here with greater expertise on illegals or even legals, answer this guy.

Try Kratom ! Very useful for pain . Kratom hits the same receptors as opiates .

Agreed, kratom actually works better for my lower back pain then oxy or other opiates.

Other then that Idk, maybe just get THE meds you need through another vendor then big pharma.

Like i use ADHD meds to study sometimes, but i would never have the patience to get them legally.
