Benzos Leg pain after taking Xanax (alprazolam 0.5 mg)

Today, I have taken alprazolam 0.5mg (I had a doubt if it's expired), still I took it (10:00am ). It did not kick in for like.. 2 hours.. After that, I started feeling drowsy, idk when I slept. I slept for a long time. Woke up, slept again for another 3hours. I felt drowsy afterwards too.
At 9 pm I started getting a sharp shooting pain in my back.. It's like a nerve pain. The pain passed from there to my leg, shaft. I have applied a pain balm it's a bit reduced now.

This is my second time taking alprazolam. Before 2 months, I took it for the first time, then I took two 0.25 mg ones.. Slept for 2 hours, felt sleepy afterwards too (they are surely not expired). This is my first time taking a 0.5 mg dose. Why did it pain? Is it a side effect?

Edit: I am a 24 year old, weight 50 kg. If it depends on it.

it could be causing your spine to relax and press on nerves because of the muscle relaxation properties. ironically I have seen xanax being prescribed for back pain from pinched nerves though.

I see.. Thanks for your help. I was worried if it's a bit serious because I thought it might be a expired one.
