Latter decarboxylation:Proper how to?

To be brief, I pulled about a quarter ounce through some ethanol and reduced that to a paste
It was suggested that I decarb afterwards as to persevere all terpenes
I homogenized the oil with 2 parts coconut oil and set it in the oven with the average temperature being around 280 (I let this be for at least 30 minutes)

Is this at all correct/what can I do differently?
