IV Morphine and Oxycodone cross tolerance

I was just in the hospital and recived IV Morphine about every 4 hours for almost 2 days. When I got discharged I recived a script for oxy 10mg. Will I already have a tolerance to the oxy? If I take 20mg would I still get a buzz?

Yes, and it will be a strong tolerance too, better save the oxy, because its quite scarce these days, 20 mgs will get you very high if you wait a couple of weeks without opioids, right now you would need more depending on how much morphine you were getting IV and you dont wanna lose oxy unnecesarily these days, its not like in the 2010 anymore.

You will have a tolerance that will decrease the efficacy of the Oxy, but I would still use it as needed/ directed for pain if you just got out of the hospital. Even though you'll have a tolerance now's probably not the best time to do a tolerance break, assuming you're in pain and all. I'd save the recreational use for later, or at least untill after you know how bad things are going to be over the next week or so.
