Iv issue

So I've been iv using heroin for about five months now. I just injected in what I thought to be my cephalic vein. I pulled the plunger back and it filled with blood and I proceeded to inject slowly. Right after my left side of my hand tingled and it has been numb for a few hours and the rest of my arm hurts. Did I damage a nerve or what happened? And what should I do to care for this and prevent it from happening again?

You could've hit a nerve, but imo you should go to a doctor, just to be safe if the numbness hasn't subsided yet
 
Probably hit the nerve... I did that at the crook of my arm a while ago before worked and was freaked as it was numb running along the vein up to my hand, but after an hour or so it regained feeling. Try taking a warm shower as that's what I did
