is modafinil worth a try?

i've tried Adderall (the king), ritalin LA 40mg (doesnt do much for me anymore) and Ritalin 10mg IR which i use recreationally sometimes when i need it.

problem with these drugs, they kill my appetite, they kill my sex drive almost entirely (i can get hard if i need to but its almost like i dont feel like having sex).

i'm looking for something i can take 3-4 times a week because i do have ADHD and just sometimes i need that extra boost in focus.. whether it be for getting work done or having an overwhelming list of errands that i put off for weeks.

should i give this a try at 200mg on days i take it?
 
I take modafinil for fibro fatigue. It doesn't really do anything for my concentration (apart from making me not too exhausted to concentrate) and it doesn't have much recreational value. It just wakes me up.

thats pretty much what i need. no matter how many hours i'll sleep at night i will still be somewhat tired, and coffee does not help.
 
Sure, just try it.

And for the next time, questions like this are not suited for OD, as OD is for intermediate harm reduction questions, maybe try BDD, but I'm not sure if it's even suited for BDD.

this is my response as well..this stuff doesnt boost my mood or concentration at al but if im tired, it makes me not feel tired..thats all it does..i am scripted it and i rarely take it even though i suffer from tiredness..i just find it a little more effective than caffeine..
 
If your doctor is willing to prescribe it, I would give it a try. Modafinil does not have all the bad side effects like the other stimulants you mentioned. Like others have said, it helped me a little to keep alert. But you might not find it effective for your HDHD.
