I took two lortabs and two Tylenol 4s and a couple hours later smoked a cigarette. I was 3/4 done with my cigarette when I got really light headed and felt like my high was boosted. I broke out in a cold sweat and felt like I was going to be sick. Is this normal? Any explanation is greatly appreciated!

This is a completely normal reaction when smoking cigarettes under the influence of opiates. For me personally if I smoke a cigarette when I am high on an opiate whether it's heroin ,Lortabs ,oxy ,whatever ,-I get real nauseous real sweaty and I feel like I'm going to puke.

No worries my friend this is very normal

Yes, it's a pretty normal reaction. It's something you get used to as your tolerance gets higher.

Nicotine activates nicotinic and muscarinic acetylcholinergic receptors. Also it alters dopamine and histamine. Opiates also increase histamine. Additionally nsaids can irritate the stomach.

Antivomiting drugs work possibly by blocking muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and histamine receptors. Additionally some of the Rx motion sickness drugs block dopamine receptors.

Nicotinic acetylcholinergic receptors and dopamine are important for muscle contractions. Muscle contractions move food along or up and back out your muscle.

Additionally muscarinic histamine make you feel hot and flush maybe even start drooling. This may be increased by delta kappa and mu opioid recetors and binding to sensors which control the release of gastic acid.

All of this paired with chemoreceptors in your brain and stomach sensing the codeine and nicotine and possibly being irritated by the nsaid paired with the increase in signaling needed to contract your muscles in a way vomit makes it not just normal but expected.

However, regular vomiting can lead to severe electrolyte problems and hospitalization.

Yes.

It helps me if i practice contracting and relaxing my stomach and chewing. Also i tend to listen to music and watch porn at the same time chewing and focusing on the sensations. I think this helps alot more than ignoring them because that tends to make me puke like trying to plug up a hose normally id just drip out some salvia but if i focus on not leting my muscles relax and contact its like shoving a finger in a hose i just end up projectile puking everything.

Also things like peanutbutter butter other thick fats just a tiny bit really coats your mouth.
