How much kava is safe to take?

Hi, I just acquired some fiji wake (I think that's what its called) kava to try and help my anxiety as I can't get hold of benzodiazepines. I'm worried about taking too much so wondering what you guys would suggest starting with. I don't use Benzodiazepines daily only when I can get them so I've not got a huge tolerance to them. I take 7.5mg zopiclone most nights and I can stay awake on that if I wish. I take a lot of gabapentin and codeine and dyhydrscodeine daily. Will kava affect my tolerance to them? Anyway If I do get diazapam i start with about 6mg and can get up to 30mg in just a few days. So i build tolerance fast.

What would you suggest is a safe amount to start with please and how do I actually even take it? Just mix with juice?
