is there a conversion for these two if not what your average guess 1 unit equal what or pint 3 units equal 5mg say?

Everyone is different, you know. It's a very subjective experience. I think that most would feel that Alcohol is a much more inebriated, intoxicated feeling than Diazepam (Valium), but it's going to be entirely dependent upon dosage. I pretty much agree with femaletrouble, if not just because it's too difficult to make an accurate conversion of dosage. Benzodiazepines have a much more subtle effect than Alcohol, which can cause the user to perceive their level of intoxixcation to be lower than it actually is. This makes this a difficult question.

Benzos can be compared because their pharamcodynamics are the same. Alcohol is a gaba drug, but its action on the gaba system is different. Therefore i think, it will be not possible to do "real" conversion.
