How long do fresh bought truffles keep?

Confused by this as on the website I am looking at it says they only last for 2 days after opening from their shrink wrap yet on the very same website it also says that you can dry them out for storage which can several days...wtf? contradictory info.

I only want small doses to try for alleviation of depression so I would want to store them. I was thinking of getting some mexicanas to tide me over till shroom season in autumn and if experiments were favorable then I would go picking.

So can I store them or not because if not I might just wait till season comes around.

It's not exactly contradictory since when you dry the truffles they start losing water and the more water they lose the better they keep. The most water is lost fast, but the last bit takes relatively long.

Arguably you even need desiccant to make them cracker dry as with with mushrooms...

Once dried you can always either rehydrate them before consumption or grind them for 'truffle dust'.
