Television How I Met Your Mother

This is a strange show for me, in that I watch it for a while, quit watching, then come back to it months later. It has a lot of inventive episodes and a lot of heart. It used to annoy me that they drag the whole mother mystery for so damn long, but the show's more about the journey than the destination.

The more I watch it, the more I believe that the titular mother is actually dead in the future. I can't think of any other reason why two teenagers would spend so much time listening to their father talk about how he met their mother. This show doesn't shy away from heartbreak, so finding out that she's actually dead wouldn't surprise me.
