How do I open EZTest ampule without drawing blood?

I must be retarded. Instructions say snap the end off at the fracture line. I tried and got a finger full of broken glass. I figured I must be doing something wrong so I watched the video on youtube I remembered seeing a while ago - and I couldn't see any difference between what was done in the video and what I did except that in the video it just popped up nicely and there was no broken glass and no blood. Any tips?

I'm trying to use less force now but nothing is happening. I'm afraid that it's either going to stay closed or do the same thing as the first one.

I also had on shatter on me while doing it 2 handed (wrongly) so I've taken to wearing a rubber glove while opening them. it does take a bit of force to get them to open though, that's why I go with the glove these days just in case.
