Opioids How come Hydrocodone and Oxycodone work when injected?

Prodrugs need to be taken orally. Like codeine and dihydrocodeine need to be metabolized by the liver into morphine, and tramadol needs to be metabolized by the liver into o-desmethyltramadol. Would hydrocodone and oxycodone not to to be metabolized by the liver into hydromorphone and oxymorphone, respectively?
