Just a little about myself to get going!

I have been following this site for quite some time and seen the good, bad and the ugly.

I am 27 years of age and have been an addict of one kind or another since I was 13. I started on Skunk (i see it as a different drug to other strains of weed) at that time and never stopped until I hit 21 and turned to the worst...alcohol.

I think the toll of the early skunk abuse (I was a daily 8th smoker of very strong stuff) still sticks with me although I have a reasonably happy life with lots of good people in it.

It was the alcohol that took me to the brink however. I relapsed many times after librium prescribed home detoxes and in the end lost my job, partner, money, mental health, developed acute pancreatitis and serious liver damage, bought the old reliable suicide kit and basically it wasn't my time to go and I was admitted to hospital for 15 nights (the best thing that ever happened to me)

I have been free of alcohol now for 4 months and my life has changed unbelievably.

I have been using Valium when I go to social events as I still want to laugh, dance and not resent being alcohol free although i have noticed my tolerance has gone up a lot with the Valium.

I understand the dangers of benzo addiction so I do not need reminding of that.

I am looking to kind of recreate the effects of alcohol (chatty, relaxed, being able to dance in a club) and Valium has helped this somewhat.

I have taken pretty much everything going except heroin and crack cocaine and have a high tolerance to certain otc opiates and street stimulants.

Has anyone got any advice on drugs or cocktails of drugs I could take to carry on being able to party and meet new people while staying safe? I have a reliable source of Xanax, would that be a decent alternative?

Thank you for your time, the community on here is a blessing to people like us.

Hey mate. I havent had much of a problem with alcohol personally and would hesitate to recommend anything for you as your liver damage etc eould be a factor to consider.

Benzo addiction is the worst thing to get over apparently so youll have to just use it very sparingly.

I have bad social anxiety and dont go out much anymore. I admire people who mingle freely totally drug and alcohol free, I have to sometimes but really struggle.

Why do you feel the need for any chrmical to go out and meet people? Is it because you're not used to being sober socially?

I would have thought pot would be a healthy alternative but given your history Im not sure.

Thanks for the reply zephyr, much appreciated.

My liver test results have come back very well as I exercise regularly and eat a very clean diet so no worries in that regard.

I understand the risk of benzo addiction so only use them in social situations in bars etc.

I don't mind going out sober however i found Valium made me chattier, able to dance and just feel more at home.

Being an alcoholic from 21 to 27 means I do not want to miss out on the regular clubbing socialising etc however i have accepted i can never drink again. I was up to 120 units a day at my worst and my life was a living hell.

I have a brilliant source of imported, outdoor grown real weed which is great for chilling in at home but still makes me a bit edgy when i'm out.

I want to recreate the relaxed feeling of alcohol and i'm looking for some advice on how to do this.

I have taken a lot of mdma, cocaine etc however these can make me very edgy without a belly full of beer.

Any feedback would really mean a lot to me as this community is brilliant.

First of all, welcome to BL! :)

The Xanax (Alprazolam) should work mostly for GAD/SAD and is a short-acting Benzodiazepine. You may also want to check out Clonazepam, Lorazepam or Temazepam although I'd advise against the latter because it's more of an sleep-aid for me IME & IMHO. Try mixing two Benzodiazepines together sometimes, may that will work for you. :)

Thanks for the reply Rexeh!

I have ordered a batch of xanax to use for parties, dates etc as I don't want my tolerance to Valium to increase too much. After a few weekend nights i'm up to 50 mg pharma grade which just makes me nice and chatty not sleepy. I don't know if using one benzo will increase tolerance to others...I guess it may as they act in similar ways but we are all different and we all react differently.

I enjoyed the Valium as it also allowed me to take coke and mdma without the agitation which can happen when sober.

Im 6" 2 (188 cm) and weigh 15 stone 4 pound (98 kg)

PS How can I get my thread more popular to get some more advice from people who have been through alcoholism but still want to party?

Quite dangerous. Being a drug addict is not cool. It never was. Eventually it's going to turn you into a creep and people will notice that. Drugs are never the answer, dude. You got to find that confidence yourself.

Well, I guess you wouldn't know. You're just a mental patient from the hospital, after all.

Hope you stay safe.

Hey Jumper, welcome to Bluelight :)

Bear in mind that we don't really 'recommend' drug cocktails as - I'm sure you can imagine - that could end up being pretty harmful.

We're more about suggesting ways to reduce the harms from things you're already doing or planning to do.

If you get pretty anxious or agitated, I'd really recommend avoiding stimulants like coke, particularly as it's going to blunt the beneficial effect you get from the benzo.

Anyway, I'll move your thread to Basic Drug Discussion where you may get more responses.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned phenibut. its cheap and legal and works on gaba B receptors. It can be just as addictive as alcohol or benzos, but it is definitely healthier than alcohol and to me, more fun than benzos. Most important thing with phenibut is spacing out your doses. Dont do it more than twice a week if you want to keep getting the good effects.

I have heard ghb is supposed to make you feel like being buzzed on alcohol but its also dangerous and not sure of the contraindications of other drugs . I have never done it but its popular in the club scenes .

Well a mixed bunch of replies there then...

By the way Escape I've had my problems with alcohol and skunk but nothing else...and yes being a drug addict isn't cool and yes I am a very confident person naturally. I enjoy and have always enjoyed mind altering substances for the physical, mental and spiritual feelings. But after so long being an alcoholic going to a loud, busy club is not an easy proposition...I doubt many people would want to do it alcoholic or not.

Thanks CFC..need all the help I can find much appreciated!
Pickled thanks for the phenibut advice, going to look into it especially as its legal so I dont have to worry about that side of things. I only want to alter my mind once or twice a week anyway (apart from the daily medicine of weed of course).

Yes Larimar ghb is something I've been wanting to try for a long time but never got a reliable source but it is something i'm looking into.
