GBL, gamma-Butyrolactone...how pure is it?

I recently recieved right at 1 US gallon of GBL in several mason jars, unfortunately the GBL wasn't in it's original container. Is there a way to find out just how pure it? This will be my first time to ever attempt to make GHB and could use some pointers!
