Hi all

SWIM has bought a testing kit including marquis reagent. SWIM is a little concerned about exposing himself to formaldehyde though as he has heard that it can cause cancer. Will the kit be safe to use once?

Cheers

The kit will be safe to use - the formaldehyde it gives off is extremely low. Do not inhale any fumes given off and you'll be absolutely fine.

I was always more fearful of the concentrated sulfuric acid myself... i have burned holes in my clothes being a careless fuck with marquis... always make sure you wash testing stuff off with water. But I second the idea of not being an issue.
