this movie comes out xmas day 09, and looks ballin as fuck.

synopsis: A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who serves his country all the while hoping that someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing that time is running out, he decides that he must take action himself and joins the German resistance. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler’s own emergency plan – known as Operation Valkyrie – these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government from the inside. With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, von Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.

Cruise as ZE KOLONEL, also stars an acclaimed cast including Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Carice van Houten, Thomas Kretschmann, Eddie Izzard, Christian Berkel and Terence Stamp.

just saw a sneak preview at my local movie theater
all i can say is amazing
I know Tom Cruise may be a wack job but hes an amazing actor
if you know your history than you know the outcome BUT it keeps you on the edge of your seat

go see it!!

it's been a while since a movie has exceeded my expectations. the plot didn't stray for a moment and it sustained the suspense really well, as did cruise's natural intensity

This was a surprisingly solid movie, given the criticism that has surrounded it.

The lovey-dovey stuff is kept to a minimum, so what is left is a pretty good thriller with some great exteriors and sets. The story occasionally runs out of steam, but the performances and characters help make up for it. 3.5/5

Two hours well spent, decent movie, kept me at the edge of my seat. My only gripe , as usual, is that Tom Cruise just doesnt do it for me. He is woefully miscast as the aristocratic German patriot, and just doesnt have the heft to convey Stauffenberg’s inner conflict and burden of command, IMHO. Sorry Tom.
