i can't believe there hasn't been a thread about this film.

so logo has done a marathon of it this christmas, and i am remembering what a classic it is.

i saw it first in a midtown theater in atlanta on a date with an adorable boy who swore he wasn't gay when i hit on him at a bar the previous week, even though he was wearing a kilt at the time, has "dated a few guys but didn't like it", was a hairdresser and more beautiful than any woman could dream to be. :D the naivety of my self shocks even me sometime.

so this movie, for those who don't know, feature guy pearce, hugo weaving, and terence stamp. you may only know the first two names, but the third is the epitome of class in this movie, and will make you want to see more of him.

it is about three drag queens who travel the outback of australia via Priscilla, their bus, and their adventures along the way. they don't realize till the end that one is on his way to visit his long lost son, and that is when it gets even better and unfortunately, though you don't want it to end, it needs to. *sad face*

the costumes and the cinematography are to die for. if you want campy drag classics, you will love it.

watching their jerky moves, their ugly faces....while in these divine costumes singing such beauty is just fucking joy.

queer haters, steer clear, but those of you, the majority of you bluelighters, who are looking for a good new movie to fall in love with, dive in.

i love it. might try to convince the missus to watch it again tonight. it's been a while.

Yep, very entertaining and funny movie.

One of the small handful of good Australian movies made in the last 15 years.

Priscilla ;)
I've always wanted to watch this...I have the soundtrack though. Will probably get it soon!:D

I've always loved this film too. This thread has reminded me to watch it again tonight.

I love this movie. I think I was 10 when it first came out and I enjoyed it then too, though I didn't understand it.

I need to rewatch this. It's been a while, but Terrance Stamp did an excellent job in this movie.
