This is the last film directed by Judd Apatow. While his name may be slapped on every other comedy that's come out in the past couple of years, he's only directed two films, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. So far, he's got a perfect batting average in my opinion.

Funny People stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogan, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill.

Here's a trailer for those who don't mind practically seeing the entire movie in less than three minutes.

haha, after seeing that I do feel like I've seen the whole movie.

I wonder if this is the first time Sandler and Mann have been in the same flick since Big Daddy? If so then Funny People needs moar Jon Stewart.

This movie will prbly do well at the box office but looking at the trailer I'm not sure I'll like it. Bit too cheesy IMO.

I don't watch trailers if I'm planning on seeing the film.. and I'll watch anything that Judd Apatow is involved in. So I'm going to keep myself in the dark on this one. (Looking forward to it though)

Agreed that the trailer makes one feel like they've seen the whole thing. :\

3/5

Sandler was awesome. Rogen was a huge disappointment. Very funny movie, very sad movie. If/when Adam Sandler really does die, apparently I'm going to take it pretty hard. I knew it wasn't gonna be a "Knocked Up" or "Superbad" from the previews, but I wasn't going to pass up a new movie with my boy

in it. Worth it, just don't expect it to be as good as Apatow's previous releases.

Well this wasn't Apatow's finest moment to say the least. About 45 minutes too long, Rogen & Mann are at their worst. The film tried to be too much. It lacked focus. Irrelevant side characters, too many celebrity cameos. It felt like Apatow tried to make his masterpiece, an epic dramedy, cramming in as much as he possibly could. But he failed IMO. I kept wanting it to end.

"she hot and shes mousey. yeah, shes mousey like the kind of mouse you want to stick your dick in"..........."Fuck facebook in the face!"

I really liked it. I think most people made the mistake of thinking it was a comedy. It is a sad movie about the relationships between several characters. These characters just happen to be "funny people". The movie is about cancer, not about laughing. I did ROTFL pretty hard a few times though.

5/5 I love Seth Rogen! This movie isn't comparable to movies like Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin because it isn't even in the same genre. Its like comparing The Bide of Chucky to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

i'd like to see this, but i'm reserving judgment. i think judd apatow is a bit overrated. yes i liked "40 year old virgin," and i really didn't mind "knocked up," but stoner dick and fart movies really only do so much for me. :\

now i'm not saying that's what this movie is, but i have an idea of what to expect. i'm sure it will to some extent live up to those expectations (correct me if i'm wrong).

i think LL can agree with me on this one... with her, it's not about the shock value. with judd apatow, it's solely about the shock value. sarah silverman's comedy is well written and well delivered. there's nothing to interpret with a straight up dick and fart joke. her delivery incites a bit of intelligence... whereas his movies insult my intelligence.

i know i know... it sounds ridiculous, but i promise you, it's absolutely true. :)
