Opioids Extracting codeine from syrup containing other ingredients

Hi!

I would like to know if it was possible to extract codeine from a syrup containing other ingredients.
Mine is Calmylin and it contains 3.33 mg codeine phosphate, 12.5 mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride and 125 mg ammonium chloride per 5 mL.

I thought of an acid-base extraction with ammonia and lighter fluid like with DXM, as codeine is an alkaloid too, but I'm concerned about diphenhydramine and ammonium chloride. I just want to know if an extraction would be possible and what the final product would look like according to you.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you'll end up doing anything to separate the codeine from the other active ingredients just the inactive ingredients

So the ammonium chloride would end up in the final product?
At least, I would get rid of the sorbitol in the syrup.
