Experiences with Gabapentin? Not Sure How To Take It.

First off, I hope this is the right forum to post this. If it's not, please point me in the right direction. Anyway...

I've been prescribed Gabapentin for anxiety at 300mg, x2s a day. I'm not sure if what it is exactly, so I put benzo because that's the closest I can guess. Either way, I want to test it to see what it does in higher doses (plus I love new experiences) but I'm not sure how to do it. I didn't find much online or in this forum, so I'm hoping someone here has more experience.

From what I have seen, you 1. shouldn't snort gaba 2. you should space it out (but how far apart? and at what dosage?) 3. it can give you a mixture of being drunk-like, possibly like ketamine, and make you drowsy.

I'm curious how much of this is true, and what else there is to know about gaba. Any help would be insightful.

Thanks!

TL;DR: I have gabapentin, 300mg. I want to take it. How should I take it? I heard snorting is a no go. How far out should I space the doses, and at what mgs? And what should I expect? Thanks

edit: forgot, how long does it take to kick in? I don't wanna be at 30 mins and feel nothing and take "too much" when it takes, say, 2 hours or something.

Never heard of snorting Gabapentin, It takes a long time to kick in with me like a hour, I don't get any pleasurable effects off it so don't take it recreationally, have heard other people who like it maybe you will.

I would just take it with water and avoid alcohol of other downers.

Gabapentin is an anti epileptic drug that can also help with certain types of nerve pain. It can also be used to treat restless leg syndrome.

I was on it for a couple of years for chronic nerve pain and it helped slightly. I was on 2400 mg pd and it had 0 effect on my anxiety. My anxiety was disabling. Constant fight or flight. GAD, Panic disorder. I couldnt even leave my house or answer the door or phone.

Pregabalin is a far better anti epileptic for managing anxiety. It even states in the information pamflet that it is used to treat anxiety which gabapentin doesn't. IMHO i think you are on the wrong medication. Ask your GP/specialist if pregabalin would be a better anti anxiety medication.

I have been on pregabalin since the start of this year and my dosage is now at 300mg pd. Which is the maximum for chronic nerve pain. In some cases they will increase this to 600mg pd but this is not usually done because tolerance at that level is increased quickly.

You can even feel a difference at 75mg bd (150mg pd) mark with relation to reduced anxiety and a gentle state of calmness.

I hope this information was usefull to you. I know im pretty new on here but i do have alot of experience in using gabapentin and pregabalin for pain and anxiety.

Kindest regards and good luck. :)
