A man in the Northern Territory called the police on his father after he destroyed his stash of cannabis plants.

Officers were called to a home in Humpty Doo, about 40 kilometres from Darwin, after the pair had a fight at the family home.

'As retribution his father burnt the son’s prized cannabis plants in a bonfire on the property,' Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said.

Tensions had been running high between the father and son since the younger man had moved interstate recently.

'The son was indignant and enraged,' Duty Superintendent Jorgensen said.

Police also said the son was not concerned about dobbing himself in for possessing cannabis, but 'He seemed to believe that the destruction of the same was far worse than the possession'.

As the cannabis was destroyed when it was thrown into the bonfire, no charges have been laid.

'The evidence has been destroyed. Along with his reputation,' Duty Superintendent Jorgensen said.

The son has now moved out of the family home to live with relatives.

Why do we continue to feed people this dumb?

This is a common occurrence now, how on earth do these people exist?

^ Maybe - just maybe - living in a place called Humpty Doo has something to do with it.

In the U.S. we have towns called "white settlement" and "surprise" but humpty doo... is that like humpty dumpty's brother?

Glad they couldn't press charges as the evidence was burned lol.

Yeah I wouldnt mind going there at some stage.

NT have some of the best cannabis laws in Aus --

NORTHERN TERRITORY

Under Northern Territory law, adults found in possession of:

- up to 50 grams of marijuana

- one gram of hash oil

- 10 grams of hash or cannabis seed

- or two non-hydroponic plants

are likely to be fined $200 and given 28 days to pay their fine. If they do this, they are not likely to face a criminal charge.

looks like somewhere in the sticks in Georgia haha...

I hate you dad!!! haha, its pretty funny this made the news, but id also imagine not much goes down in a place called humpty doo lol.
