Doubts about my san pedro being the real deal

A friend of a friend came was over at my place and insisted that i wasn't growing san pedro cacti but had no idea what they were. Now ive been filled with doubts and have been looking online to try and confirm they are san pedro and now im really not sure what they are. I raised some from seeds and the other from cuttings, both came from well known vendors on big sites with good reviews so i never questioned it until now. The only real difference i can tell between my cuttings and seeds are the length of the spines, other than that i think they both look like the pictures ive seen on the web from vendors sites and google images.

So if anyone could help me out and let me know what you think they are i would be very appreciative. Also 2 of my cacti got a severe case of E.D. and wont stand up straight anymore. This has happened before but after a day or so of turning the pot so the plant would grow towards the sun again or if i kept my cfl lights on a regular schedule they again would be fine in a couple of days. I also have been having some problems with watering, they are starting to get white spots and dry out. Ive been giving them plenty of water and don't water again until the soil has dried. Ruined two of them by overwatering, found out when i went to transfer them two bigger pots to find green roots when i pulled it out.

Alrighty then i guess thats all of my newbie questions i have so far, thanks in advance.

Looks exactly like San Pedro/Peruvian torch to me, but we really can't ID things on here, and a lot of these columnar cacti look very similar to each other, so hard to know for sure.

Try viagra for that droopy guy. :D jk of course

Welcome :)
Like perp said ID threads are against the rules - it's just because there are limits to what can be judged via the internet from a photo, the possible false sense of security people can sometimes get from answers as a result, responsibility can also become an issue.
That said, there aren't really that big risks I can think of when cacti are involved... so with a disclaimer it is relatively harmless to just comment on your post and pics, probably. It's barrel cacti that can be poisonous but they look quite different.

It would actually be helpful to know what your friend's argument is for thinking it is strictly not a San Pedro or Peruvian Torch.

I'd say that while the shape and number of ribs and color match for San Pedro, the spines are probably too big for one.

Trichocereus Peruvianus (Peruvian Torch) looks more like it, but it does appear rather green instead of the more grey or blue you would expect... but it seems frequently they do be green.

San Pedro is a Trichocereus species and if the identity is mistaken it's usually another sort of Trichocereus. Other genera aren't as much lookalikes AFAIK.
Sometimes there are hybrids or subspecies with slightly different features or sharing traits, making things more difficult to determine... although possibly confusion can just be a sign of lack of expertise. I'm well into cacti and succulents but it's certainly not a specialty.

You could ask your friend about it being a Peruvian Torch, noting details about what he says (if not why not in particular - idk how experienced or knowledgeable he is)... doing some research on the identifying characteristics of Peruvian Torch (Trichocereus Peruvianus) and checking very carefully if your cactus matches, one by one.

About the plant care... I'd recommend the Ethnobotanical Garden on the Shroomery forum since it's not a tradition here to discuss it in in PD at all.

Do come back for other psychedelics talk though!
