Meth Dissolved meth vaporizes dirty

Dissolved 0.5g meth shards in a few mls of distilled water then let it evaporate slowly and got powder. Problem is now it burns dirty leaving black marks in the bowl and has a unpleasant taste. I've had the same problem when dissolving meth in food grade 95% ethanol as well as rubbing alcohol. Previously this meth was very clean upon vaporizing but dissolving and drying now makes it turn amber and eventually leaves a black residue. What gives?

all of the water is not coming out unless your are drying it under high vacuum with heat for 12 hours or more

black residue upon heating is often indicative of polymerization reactions happening amongst thermal decomposition products.

Lots of possibilities but

The heat plus your water plus your gear might cause polymerization and decomposition pathways that require the residual water that don’t happen with your dry product.

You could be forming hydrates/polymorphs of meth or some impurity that don’t vaporize easily or cleanly when you add the water.
