Hello to all,

First time poster, long, long time lurker

I have a question that is VERY important to me and did a quick search and could not find a pre-existing thread, so I hope I am will not make the mods angry by creating a new thread. I am not the best with computers, so please forgive me if my search for an already present thread wasn't found with my search.

SWIM has a pre-employment test coming up very soon. SWIM has a script for both hydros and xanax. SWIM has a legit reason for having both of them. Xanax prescribed for 26 years for horrible, crippling anxiety and hydros for spondylosis and 3 fractured discs for almost 2 years now. Because the script for hydros is such a low script ( 2x 5mg a day) and the pain is worsening, SWIM sometimes has to fill in the gaps between refills when they go through them too fast due to increasing pain. Unfortunately, that has led to SWIM using H fairly steadily for about 3 weeks now. They aren't proud of it and actually want to kick that habit asap, sincerely, most sincerely. The problem is that the test is in about 5 days and SWIM can get their hydros filled tomorrow and intends on immediately stopping the H and using the hydros to carry them through test time which if 5 days from tomorrow and then is going to address the addiction problem immediately after via a pain management clinic and an addiction medicine specialist because they are completely and totally sick of being a slave to a nasty, horrible drug. The problem is that SWIM has only one friend and no family to speak of, which is hard enough, so conquering this by nearly being alone facing it is very difficult.

They know the test that is around the corner is only a "5 panel test" as it says on the paperwork for the lab they are going to. I guess the question is if a person immediately stopped the H and took the hydros to take the edge off the withdrawals to just get through test day, when they pop hot for opiates, will showing the person giving the test their script for hydros be sufficient to skate through, as a 5 panel doesn't break opiates up into different variations? SWIM knows that a test with more panels can tell different opiates/opioids apart where as a 5 panel just lumps them all together. A positive test for benzos can be explained with a legitimate anxiety disorder and a legitimate script for that anxiety disorder. Will being upfront about being on Xanax and hydros and able to provide legit scripts help SWIM when they inevitably test positive for benzos and opiates?

Also, from SWIM looking on the internet, they have read that H leaves the body in 2-3 days, (including its metabolites) from about 80% of different websites. However, some have said it can take a full week to rid the system of the substance based on age, metabolic rate, health of kidneys & liver, potency of substance, length of use, and weight. I also wonder if the company is only paying for a 5 panel and the person taking the test is positive for both classes of drugs and provides legit scripts, does it end there, or do they do further testing to determine which opiate and benzo it is? SWIM tends to think they would just drop it as if they wanted to know which opiate or benzo, the company would have just paid the extra money for a test with more panels to start with. When this is over, SWIM has already looked into sub clinics where they live and is just going to bite the bullet and get on a MAT program because they don't want to live that kind of life and they understand at this point, they have lost all control and desperately need help.

SWIM knows this job is a great opportunity with great pay doing something they love and don't want to flush it down the toilet, so that is why they asked me for advice, and that is why I am here asking for them. SWIM also wonders if the hydros will help much or if they will still be extremely, visibly sick tipping off the clinic even more.

If someone could help me answer this question, SWIM would be very grateful. By the way, SWIM has found this site to be very informative over the years and appreciates a lot of the kind words and members that they read when they read this forum. There seem to be a few pricks on here, but hey, that is everywhere in life. Can anybody help with these questions? SWIM thanks all of you in advance. They are exhausted to their soul and want nothing more than help now. They are putting down their sword and surrendering to help.

We don't allow SWIM, nor do we allow drug testing questions.

Because I'm a nice guy, I'll humor you though. The usual opioid dipstick test is nonspecific for opioids; it will result in positive for morphine, codeine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and sometimes oxycodone/oxymorphone (there is usually a seperate test for those).

If you can show you are prescribed hydrocodone, chances are they will not investigate further. However, if they choose to forward it for GCMS testing, then they can differentiate heroin use from hydrocodone easily.

My apologies. I am sorry. I did not realize I broke the rules. Totally my fault. Again, I am very sorry.

No probs, it happens mate. But seeing as Sekio has given you a decent answer, I'm going to close this thread now.

Might be worth familiarising yourself with the site rules for future reference.

Cheers!
