Diclazepam is a long acting benzodiazepine that metabolizes into Delorazepam & Lormetazepam, and then finally into Lorazepam (Ativan). I found a chart someone put together that was interesting to see. Delorazepam is a great long acting anxiolytic licensed in Italy, which also turns into Lorazepam (Ativan).

Diclazepam isn’t really like Valium at all, almost like a pro-drug to Delorazepam & Lorazepam

Diclazepam t1/2 = 42h
Delorazepam t1/2= 78h
Lorazepam t1/2 = 12h

Diclazepam - steadily drops over 150/h
Delorazepam - peaks at 48/h and then drops over 250/h
Lorazepam - increases over 50/h then decreased slowly over 200/h

I have been dosing 0.3mg daily for first 4 days to ease into its effects. 1-2mg dose is the norm from what I’ve read. Would it be safe to dose 1mg Diclazepam daily, then gradually reducing ? Short acting Etizolam became a daily occurrence and I want to gradually reduce using Diclazepam. Just wondering if it’s extremely long half-life plus 3 active metabolites could be dangerous & accumulate (also on Methadone 80mg daily /stable for years)

So far I’ve been taking minute amounts …..usually 0.3mg in morning and 0.3mg after dinner

What if 1mg or 2mg we’re taken daily…..still considered a safe range? …I guess you would experience a gradual increase in sedation as the metabolites started building up in the body
