Hi there, long time reader first time poster.

My friend has been taking diazepam for 4 weeks at 40mg, four time a day and just what off of them. Dose he need to taper or just can he just stop. He is not addicted and doesn’t get cravings for them. He only took them to get off cannabis and has worked, now he wants off of these to be drug free. Very much appreciated if I could get a bit of help from someone who has gone through this.

Many Thanks

While it's best to taper when discontinuing benzos like diazepam, four weeks may not be so bad for your friend. Every person is different. He may experience some discomfort from coming off that dosage. Tell him if he starts to feel poorly, he can take a 10 mg tablet and look into a short taper plan. We're here to help. Thank you for you quick response, are you meaning he can just discontinue use of them. If he starts to get a poorly take a 10mg as their all he has, then a short taper. Just for clification :)
