Dangers of oxycodone and Xanax?

Is it dangerous to take .5 mg if Xanax at bedtime after taking 20 mg if oxycodone 2 hours earlier? I feel like both are a small dosage but every drug interaction checker I see just says it?s a dangerous combo but doesn?t really say how much it would take to be dangerous.

Do you have a tolerance to either? The issue with benzos and opiates is that the Benzo potentiates the opiate, which can result in stronger respiratory depression.

The combo can be quite dangerous if you have no tolerance, especially if you throw alcohol in the mix. Do not drink if you are going to take both a benzo and an opiate!!

The interaction checkers can't give you an awnser, because the dose at wich it becomes dangerous isn't the same for everyone. In general, combining downers is a bad idea, especially if one of them is a strong opioid. On top of that, the combo isn't very enjoyable IMO. Benzos just make the opioid's effects more sedating and dull.
The same applies to alcohol, for example. Are 3 beers too much after 40mg of oxy? Maybe yes, maybe no. But it's not worth the risk. Opioids are amazing on their own.
