Daily low dose DXM for opioid tolerance

What is the consensus on using therapeutic doses of DXM daily for extended periods of time to reduce opioid tolerance? It doesn't seem that there would necessarily be significant damage from this practice.

I imagine that after some time one may experience a discontinuation syndrome similar to SSRI's if they skip a dose.

Has anyone used therapeutic doses daily for years as an adjunct to opioid pain management? What was your experience?
I feel that drinking that syrup daily may be more harmful to the body than the compound itself lol

I, too, am curious of specifics. As i have used dxm in the passed as a potentiator i don't remember the dosing bc i never measured it. i do remember tho it was always super low dosing, but nothing more detailed. Can anyone come correct?
