Curing shrooms

I don't care to know how to, I think I do but what bothers me is all these people acting like you can just go out and pick certain kinds of magic mushrooms and they're fine to eat

I pretty much think this is false not to mention dangerous information to spread. I was just curious though, are there types of shrooms that you in fact don't need to cure before consuming? I thought even amanitas, which aren't related to psilocin/psilocybin need to be dried out first so you won't get sick before digesting them

I enjoy mushrooms (cubensis) fresh much more than I do dried. Only reason to dry them is long term preservation. You have to eat fresh ones within 3 or so days or they'll go bad/turn to mush.

So to answer your question, no, you don't need to 'cure' mushrooms. Drying them is simply for the purpose of preservation.

Cheers. I guess that means it's a good idea to dry them in most cases. Maybe I was thinking of amanitas, although I haven't tried them
