Crystals without testing?

I know I'm probably gonna get an ear full about this, and I would definitely never take a pill without testing but how about crystals? Is it common to have fake of this? Is there any way to know how legit they are without using a kit? Maybe from taste, appearance, etc.? I have tried crystals before so have a rough idea of what they should be like.

I would of course test it if I could but it's just really not possible where I am right now

Yes fake crystal is very prevalent, especially in America. Physical properties of a crystal provide no indication of what it may be. Millions of drugs will taste bitter when you eat them. So no you don't know what MDMA should taste like.

You probably knew this was coming, but no substance I.D. A test kit really is the only way, find a way to get hold of one.
