Colorado Recreational Marijuana Sales Exceed $5 Million In First Week

It may change some things, like labelling of THC and CBD %'s and what strain it is and stuff like that. Currently here people buy street pot and most of the time they dont know how potent it is at all and what is added etc, there has been stories passed around here that some dealers or distributors add stuff to the pot to make it heavier or stickier and things like that, stuff that isnt natural at all.
Very true.

Why don't we use logic to tackle this one?

Alrighty then.

Law enforcement wants to decrease the number of violent crimes.

B wants A.

Catching a larger proportion of criminals helps decrease violent crime

C helps A

Law enforcement wants to catch a larger proportion of violent criminals.

B wants C

Marijuana use increases the likelihood of getting caught committing all crimes.

D helps E

Marijuana use does not increase the number of violent crimes.

D does not help F

Marijuana use increases the proportion of violent criminals caught.

D helps C

Law enforcement wants marijuana use.

Therefore,
B wants D

It does not follow logically that D helps B. B wants D because D helps C and so on.
This leap of logic would lead us to say that if C helps A then A wants C, which is nonsense.

I am just doing all this to be dorky. It has already been explained.

Dogs want antifreeze.
It does not follow that antifreeze helps dogs.
It all boils down to antifreeze being novel in a dog's life.

Marijuana use increases the likelihood of getting caught committing crimes.

An increase in the likelihood of a criminals getting caught increases the amount of criminals who to get caught.

Therefore Marijuana increases the amount of criminals who get caught

or

Marijuana use increases the likelyhood of getting caught committing crimes

An increase in the likelihood of criminals getting caught committing crimes increases the amount of criminals who get caught.

The amount if criminals who get caught increases the ease of catching criminals.

Therefore marijuana use increases the ease of catching criminals.

How about these do you think they work?
Suppositions do not need to be proven, but if true they prove the conclusion. In special cases, if they are false they disprove the conclusion.

EDIT: I do take back what I said earlier, I think your first argument works, but your second supposition can be simplified.

As far as your second argument, I believe the third supposition is false. More criminals being caught does not make it easier to catch criminals.

1A Police officers work to catch criminals

1B Police officers perform activities that make police work easier

1C-2A-6B Police officers do activities that make catching criminals easier

2B Marijuana use by criminals is an activity that makes catching criminals easier

2C-3A Police officers do marijuana use by criminals

3B Marijuana use by criminals require marijuana and a method of use

3C-4A Police officers do require marijuana and a method of use

4B All stoners do require marijuana and a method of use

4C-5A Police officers have the same requirements all stoners

5B All stoners must get really high to make work easier

5C-6A Police officers must get really high to make work easier

6C Getting really high must make catching criminals easier

and if you can grow you own why would we still see this correlation.. also the price of lower grade grass went so significantly down in colorado when it was legalized what effect would this have on the results

I would love to see a study that compares crime rates during prohibition and after when the police address real crime instead of wasting so much time chasing pot heads.
The study was using pot prices as a marker of pot usage. If I recall correctly, lower prices meant more use, which in theory increased property crime.

The initial marijuana prohibition occurred, again if I recall correctly, during a time of not a lot of use. By 1970? its use had been popularized (increasing) and then government programs (propaganda? a fad?) were able to decrease usage.
7G Thread ruined.

The average cost of a 30-second Super Bowl ad in 2013 was $4 million.

Sounds expensive to be "legal"

I think our price brackets out here are more favorable.

Glad to see people getting baked though.

I'll be going to CO in May and am hopeful I'll be able to check this out. Anyone yet to go there and purchase legally..??
