Secondly, we aren't really a site for questions like this. Phrased differently, such as "I plan on taking some codeine, but am unsure of the dose. What is a safe amount to take for someone with no opiate tolerance?" is more like it, as we are more about harm reduction than telling people how to get high.
So to answer your question, a safe dose to try codeine recreationally for the a naïve user is 30-60mg. If after 90 mins, you're not feeling good, take another 30mg.
Taking 90mg for the first time may not be very dangerous, but it may end up making you puke for an hour and really regret it.
Try 60mg max to start with.

^what axe battler said don't take to much between 30-60mg to start but if your not feeling it after say 3 hours don't redose it doesn't work as well after your first dose. I read that codeine is best left 6 hours apart to get high. But an hour after dosing you will get high but wait and see how your body reacts to it. Stay safe
