Swik at a party keeps having grand mal seizures when they sniff cocaine, and I?ve now witnessed two out of maybe 60, anyway this fella every time I?ve seen him have a seizure he comes out of it after snoring agitated kicking and punching out and then he sniffs more cocaine off the side and I?ve tried speaking to him and he?s just like hmm? He has never had a seizure other than with cocaine and he sniffs less then me

could someone please explain as I?d like to help him realise

Sooo your friend has had (maybe) 60? seizures and still doesn't see a problem with using coke? I think your friend needs to see a specialist or at least a general physician asap. There are different types of seizures and conditions that cause them. Coke could be just the push he needs to make them a regular occurrence sans coke. There's an interesting article about kindling from coke and generalized tonic-clonic seizures, but I'm afraid your friend needs far more than pub-med or Bluelight. I truly hope he gets properly diagnosed.

I just can’t understand how he comes out seizures doesn’t know who I am yet sniffs a line 20 secs after waking up isn’t this a recipe for disaster

Well obviously...

He needs to get diagnosed and stop doing cocaine asap. How long do his seizures last? He might have some brain damage already.
Seizures are not a joke, I don't understand how no one has called an ambulance or sent him to the ER if he keeps having grand mal seizures...

He won’t go because he doesn’t want the dvla to ban him yet he will have a seizure, come right out of the seizure whilst all confused and sniff a line then drive off, he’s crashed loads of times that’s why I’m asking for help I’m trying to do right thing and about 3 mins followed by anger and total confusion !! I thought seizures them self’s didn’t cause much brain damage he cry’s out

If he were to stop the coke and start a med like Phenytoin under the care of a physician he might be able to keep the epilepsy under control for the better part of the rest of his life. But by continually sticking the fork in the wall socket (doing coke) the chances of having greater numbers of seizures with refractory issues grows manifold.

I have a history of Epilepsy. While my seizures are pretty much 100% controlled, its HIGHLY ILLEGAL for someone to be driving with a history of seizures. You can only drive a car if you have been seizure free for 6 months to a year, depending on where you live. He can easily kill himself or another person. He needs to see a doctor ASAP. Having 60 seizures can damage the brain to the point of never being able to live a "functioning" life. Unless he wants to be eating through a straw, he needs to see a neurologist.

^^ I had 3 or 4 grand Mal seizures from going cold Turkey on 6-10 mg of xanax daily. I thought I would endure the withdrawal until my next appointment which was about a week from when I ran out. Within 48 hours after taking my last dose, I was having seizures every 6 hours after that until my mom found me one morning flopping like a fish out of water.

Anyways, after that I saw a neurologist who revoked my license until I was medically cleared to drive again. They also said if I did drive before being cleared by doctors and going back to the dmv and I was pulled over it is a felony. So aside from your friend damaging his brain, he can also be in some legal trouble if hes pulled over and they find out hes been driving with epilepsy while not being controlled.

Good luck to you and I hope everything works out with your friend. Seizures are not to take lightly.

In a party night at beach I suffered severe seizures in the morning after take during the night three grams of snorted cocaine with more than 200mg orally methylphenidate. It can be avoided being cautious with the amount of cocaine, don't mixing it with other stims and taking any anticonvulsive such as pregabalin, gabapentin or plants like valerian or passion flower

I honestly believe my drug use made me develop epilepsy. I was diagnosed in my late twenties by a neurologist based on an EEG. My first seizure was when I was coming off of a exstacy in early twenties. I continued to use and got into cocaine. I have had seizures coming off of coke, x, alcohol, opiates and also when I had no drugs in my system. My seizure threshold was very low but I couldn't stop the drugs. I'm an addict. Now I have to take 2000mg's of Keppra every day for the rest of my life. Be careful. Had I quit the drugs, I know I would not have epilepsy.
