Technical Problem can't edit posts

Over the past day or so, I've noticed that I can't seem to edit my posts. I can start editing and make changes, but none of the buttons (save, delete, go advanced, cancel) do anything.

My browser doesn't seem to be sending any http requests, and the only way I can get the quick edit box to go away for one post is to hit edit on another or refresh the page.

I haven't noticed any other forum features breaking, just edits. Any help would be appreciated - as a mod, not being able to edit things is a tad inconvenient

I notice a javascript error relating to vB_Text_Editor and line 11. I think this may be related. I get this error and one other about line 7089 on loading a view thread page, and another copy of the same line 11 error each time I click 'edit' for a different post.

Hmm. IE8 can edit; Firefox 3.6.10 can't.

edit: Safari can as well. WTF, Firefox?

I wonder if somehow javascript or something got turned off. Try starting Firefox in safemode and see if the problem doesn't go away. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/safe+mode If editing works in safe mode start FF in safe mode a second time checking the box about reverting to default settings and the problem should be fixed.

Safe mode is having the same problem, still throwing this js error:

The line number isn't very helpful, of course, since the first 10 lines are comments and line 11 contains all the scripting... Friggin' intentional code obfuscation.\

For a lack of any better ideas I think you might try clearing your cache. I found threads elsewhere from years ago about a windows update causing similar problems but that dosn't seem likely to be the problem now. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache?s=clear+cache&as=s

Great success... Weird! I installed a round of win 7 updates not long ago; I guess that's what caused it. I'm not even gonna try to wrap my head around what could be in the cache that would break javascript.... Based on a system update. The mind, it boggles, but I can edit again so I'll take it Thanks for the help.
