Site Feedback Can we please enable GIF avatars again?

In answer to the actual issue @assclass , which I also find annoying since I miss my crazy spinning kitty, we have looked into restoring gif avatars a few times. But we're not sure if the server supports ImageMagick, and so it'll take a bit of testing and trying not to crash the place when we have some spare time. Which is not never, but nevertheless some way down a list that seems to keep lengthening (partly cos I'm barely around atm).

tl;dr: we will try and restore gif avatars at some point
