can I still use medical dextromethorphan if I have psychosis?

I found out the other day I have psychosis. Is it safe to use dextromethorphan in medicinal doses to treat coughs and colds? I know tripping on it can further unmask psychosis, but if I just use it to help with coughs and colds in normal amounts that don't get you high can it still unmask psychosis?

You would need to speak to your doctor about this but the small amounts used for treating coughs do not have dissociative effects.

Taking like 30mg of dxm for cough supressing is well out of active range thresshold dissociation doesnt occur untill 150mg and thats if you are lightweight. Should be safe. Safest would be to ask a docter but i wouldnt feel the need to but im not you.
