Cactus Identification - Active or Not?

Can someone tell me whether this glorious piece of Cactus is a piece of a San Pedro or not?

If not, what species of Cactus is this and is it Active or not?

It has the more rounded edges that San Pedro has rather than a more pointed star like edge. The spines are a bit shorter than any Pedro I've seen. You should taste a freshly cut piece and see if it's bitter.

I'd say in the picture is not not a bridgesii or juul's giant?

I highly doubt tasting will help to confirm anything.

I think places like the shroomery will help with a cactus ID. You could also read maybe Trouts notes to begin learning how to ID Tricho species on your own. Pass on the tasting of the cacti as that will tell you little in regards to what type it may be.
