I started bupe a few months ago and have been experiencing fluid retention, noticeable in face and under arms. this week it got worse to the point ive been struggling to breathe. the ed doctor said its unlikely the bupe causing it . ive read a few bits about the diuretic function being affected by opiates but am unsure if this is the cause.

does anyone have similar experiences from using high amounts of bupe?

if by fluid retention you simply mean not pissing enough; yes; to the point I can't pee in a cup twice a month and have to do saliva tests instead. Don't get me wrong I piss many times per day but 'on command'is not gunna happen and liquid loading is umm unpredictabe and could end poorly if any waiting is involved. Sorry if that was TMI, at least it was I?

actual visible fluid retention and fluid around lungs . pissing doesnt seem to be affected . but ultimately fluid retention is caused by not pissing enough anyway i guess -diuretic hormones etc..

Been on bupre many years, never had that problem except to urinate itself. Something else at play
