Blood draw for drug test?

Im taking 200mg lamictal and they might up the dose, but before they do that, they needa draw my blood to examine it or something. I dont know what that something is though, and if it means i might test positive for cannabis, then i might needa stay away. When they examine my blood, will they notice THC in it or anything? Or are they just looking for one thing. Because if i test positive, then im basically fucked (for personal reasons). Should i stay away from weed for a while?
