Couple years ago when I was actually sober I started having these horrible memory loss. It felt like I was on extreme amounts of drugs but I wasn’t. I finally went to see a diff neurologist.
two mins in the appt he told me to walk down the hall. I’ve always been clumsy and walked weird. He then had me do EEGs mris etc (I was working and fully insured thankfully )
Turns out.. I was born with a small mass in my temporal lobe. Just a fatty mass. But it contributed to hundreds of aura seizures a day. Now this is OFTEN misdiagnosed (not that I didn’t have these as well but when you’re young and you’re first diagnosed you follow that path) anxiety, depression ,bi polar, fibromyalgia ,insomnia etc. It causes you to also get deja Vu a lot. And here I was thinking I was a psychic lol.
He put me on a variety of dif meds to try. Right now we are still trying to find the right ones. Since I lost my insurance and he’s a very expensive specialist (200$ a visit without insurance) I couldn’t see him for awhile and do any of the tests. So I went back to what I knew would make me feel better. Opi and coke. I’m currently getting off it now. It’s funny the combined amount I spent is more than enough to not only see him but grt the required tests. But addicts like me don’t think that way. We see the money now and need the relief now.
If you are feeling similar and often get deja Vu. Please see a neurologist and get the correct help.
he told me all the medications I’ve been prescribed (Prozac Xanax etc etc) has been making it worse. We are weaning off it and that’s really what started my use again.
I often imagine if a doctor just did the special mri of my brain and saw the mass when I was young where I would be now. Would I be in this position. Life is full of these mysteries
